We did this investigation after various news reports suggested Pret stores tended to have very few British staff. The piece got a strong reaction online, including this blog post from the Spectator’s editor Fraser Nelson. The online version is here. A few months later, I interviewed Pret CEO Clive Schlee. During the interview he revealed that Pret were developing a new job scheme to attract more British young people into the business, which he said “stemmed from” our piece.
